Calculated Marking
Fill the syringe to 20 units for a 1 mg amount
Read the amount at the needle-side edge of the black rubber stopper.
Calculated Pen Setting
Dial the pen to 20 units for a 1 mg amount
20
Based on the pen calibration entered. Confirm that calibration on the physical device.
Concentration5 mg/mL
Volume0.2 mL
Device Scale100 units/mL
How The Calculation Works
Concentration = peptide amount ÷ solution volume. Required volume = amount entered ÷ concentration. For a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 mL equals 100 units.
Example: 10 mg mixed with 2 mL produces 5 mg/mL. A 1 mg amount requires 0.2 mL, which is 20 units on a U-100 syringe.
